The First National Bank of Fairfax, Minnesota

The First National Bank of Fairfax, Minnesota is a small independent community bank that is locally owned and locally managed with one office.   Founded in 1910, it is located in a rural community with a population of about 1,300 situated at the crossroads of Minnesota State Highways 4 and 19 in Renville County in Southwestern Minnesota.  We are about 5 miles north of the Minnesota River and in the area of the corn belt, where the soil is fertile with gently sloping terrain.  Average rainfall amounts to about 22 inches and most farm fields are tiled for proper drainage.

As a commercial bank our principle business is agriculture lending and offering deposit services.  Our farm customers as a group are exceptionally well diversified; raising row crops, which include field corn, soybeans, sweet peas, sweet corn and sugar beets.  Livestock production includes confinement facilities for hogs and turkeys and some dairying.  In the environ we have several processing plants which include a sugar beet factory, a fish farm, three cannaries, and an ethanol plant.  Naturally we are quite proud of our local agricultural industry as shown by Minnesota agricultural statistics.  Among Minnesota’s 87 counties, Renville County usually ranks either 1st or 2nd in the state in the production of corn for grain, soybeans, sweet corn, peas and sugar beets.

Now you know who we are, what we are and what we do.  Please use our internet services with the confidence that you will always be well treated and honored as our customer.
